Bio: Justice Broussard Scholarship Program Gumbo Cookoff Gala Sponsors & Donors

The Mardi Gras event was one of the Foundation's fund raisers.

The Allen E. Broussard Scholarship Foundation was established in November 1996 shortly after the death of California Supreme Court Associate Justice Allen E. Broussard. The goal of the Foundation is to provide scholarship assistance to minority law students attending San Francisco Bay Area law schools, based on academic performance, community service and financial need.

The scholarships are intended to defray the costs of tuition and other related expenses for promising future lawyers whose academic achievements, dedication to public service and strong character are in keeping with the late Justice Broussard's beliefs.

The Foundation is guided by our Board of Directors and raises funds through sponsored events, such as the Mardi Gras Gumbo Cookoff and the Annual Alameda County Law Day and Award Luncheon as well as direct donations from generous supporters.

Since 2005, the Foundation has collaborated with the Alameda County Superior Court Law Day committee, to co-sponsor a luncheon celebrating Law Day, honoring the Broussard Scholars and the Alameda County Moot Court participants.

The Allen E. Broussard Scholarship Foundation will award at least three $5,000 scholarships in 2011 for the 2011-2012 academic year.
